Hopkins, Anthony Eugene Francis (1966-2023)
It is with profound sadness that the family of Anthony (Tony) Hopkins announce his passing on March 18th 2023, at the age of 56 years. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Tony passed peacefully surrounded by family.
Leaving behind his pride and utmost joys, his daughter Taylor Hopkins (Cory), his son Zachary Hopkins, and his precious grandsons that called him Nono, Jax and Hudson. The mother of his children and loving friend Franca Squarzolo, mourns his passing. He was the son of Gordon and Clara (Prue) Hopkins, both predeceased. Beloved brother to Janice Van Horn (Ivan predeceased) who loved and cared for Tony as a son, Adrian Hopkins (Mary) who were always there for him, Bernard Hopkins (Shirley), Michael Hopkins (Jessie) both predeceased, and Kim Hopkins-Barton (Brian). Loved like a grandson by “Mr. and Mrs. V”, Pat and Marvin Van Horn (both predeceased). Greatly loved and cherished by Jennifer Van Horn, and Julia Kenny (Patrick), as well as extended families and good friends.
Tony enjoyed many years working construction along side coworkers that became lifelong friendships. Proud of his hard work, Tony could tell you stories about projects he has worked on all throughout Sudbury and surrounding cities. In his free time you could find him fishing, quadding, on his snowmachine, camping, going to yard sales, or tinkering in his garage. Nothing could compare to the time he valued spending with family. You could always count on Tony for a good laugh or to brighten your day. Always loved, never forgotten, forever missed.
