It is with great sadness that the family of Ann Rains announces her passing. Mom passed away into the arms of God, on Feb 29, 2024 at 8:40am, at St Paul’s hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She passed at the age of 70. Mom will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 53 years, Neil; their six children and twelve grandchildren, Trevor and his daughter Brooke (Denis), Jeff (Karyna) and their children Brittney, Karla (Lucas), and Estefany, Bryon (Tami) and their children Symantha and Jett, Anthony (Lauretta) and their children Amaya, Samuel, Jacob and Maddox, Crystal and her children Kieran and Emilia, and Lori-Anne.
Mom was born in Galt Ontario, and met Neil in 1970, they then got married in 1971. They moved to Saskatoon in 1976, to help start up and support the New Apostolic Church. She played the organ, sang in the choir, hosted fellowships and devoted her life to God and her children, and later her grandchildren. Mom was happiest surrounded by any of her loved ones, and enjoyed spending as much time as she could at the lake. Mom always had room for more in her heart and her home. She never turned away a spot at the table or her home and she always cared for others as if they were her own. We will always remember her for her loving and caring nature.
Mom was welcomed in the loving arms of her parents Ivan and Elora Baker, as well as her sister Julia and brother Irwin, and her two miscarried children. She was the 2nd oldest of 8 children: her sisters Laura (John), Julia (Ken), Iva (Neil), brother Ivan (Monique),sister Christine (Perry), Irwin, Kenny (Kathy); she is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her life will be celebrated on Monday March 4, 2024 at The New Apostolic Church, 325 Camponi Place, at 3pm. The funeral service will be held by Shepherd Bernt. All are welcome to attend.
