Anne M. Williamson passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at
her home in Bonny River, New Brunswick, September 9,
2023.
Anne was born in 1934, Second Falls, New Brunswick to the
late Dr Kenneth Gillmor Williamson and the late Anna
«Christine» (Douglas) Williamson.
Anne began her early education in a one room schoolhouse in
Second Falls, New Brunswick and continued to St Stephen, New Brunswick
graduating from St Stephen High School in 1950. After
graduation she continued onto secondary education and became a
graduate in 1951 from Saint Croix Commercial
College. Anne then attended Mount Allison
University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree (cumlaude) in
1955. She worked for a year at Atomic Energy in Chalk River,
Ontario and then returned home to New Brunswick, where she graduated
from the University of New Brunswick in 1957 with a Bachelor of
Education. She taught Math at Saint John High School for
three years followed by a short time working at the Bank of Nova
Scotia in St Stephen, New Brunswick before toing to Montreal, Quebec,
where she was employed as a Statistician in the Department of
Endocrinology at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal,
Quebec. By 1971, Anne was drawn back to New Brunswick and
worked as a Statistician at the Biological Station, St Andrews, New
Brunswick, in the Salmon and Lobster Research.
Anne played basketball through her high school and university
years. She enjoyed partridge hunting, gardening, walking and
caring for her canine pals, especially Opal.
Anne is survived by her sisters, Nancy of Toronto, Ontario,
Ellen of Bonney River, New Brunswick, her brother George (Sally)
Williamson of Chester, Nova Scotia, two nephews, three nieces,
grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, Carole (Douglas) Peszat and Bill
Bowden.
A graveside service will be held at the St Stephen Rural
Cemetery at a later date.

made to Alzheimer’s Society of New Brunswick, Charlotte
County Cancer or a charity of one’s choice.
