On December 21st, 2024 Dennis Warne lost his “Sweetheart” Annie of over 55 years. She will be greatly missed by her pride and joy, her children Andrew Warne, Lindsey Sheahan and her son & daughter in-law Barry Sheahan & Kelly Warne. The loves of her life, her four grandchildren Ainsley, Conner, Emjay & Georgia. Her kindness and laughter will be dearly missed by her siblings Cathy Dewar (Ian) Christine Elder (Mike) Elizabeth “Biz” Westcott (Gregg) & Michael Greenhill (Lydia) and many nieces and nephews who she was always so proud of.
If you knew our mom, you knew how much she loved her family, people, travel, sweets and her cats (not necessarily in that order). If you ever went out with her, you knew that it would never be quick, as she always had time for everyone and always wanted to get to know them because she genuinely cared about everyone. Mom had an open door policy, all of our friends were welcome at any time, she even went so far as to become an adopted mom to some.
As the first ever Occupational Health nurse at Toronto Hydro, she was affectionately known as “Nursie” and respected for her kindness and compassion. Annie was an incredibly talented quilter making countless beautiful quilts with her friends in St. Jacobs that she gifted to loved ones. She was a devoted volunteer at Notre Dame Convent working alongside old friends and even former teachers. Her favourite memories were time spent at the cottage with friends, playing cards, being cheerleader and paparazzi to her Grandkids, and her many trips with Den by her side to Italy, France, Portugal, Iceland and earlier this year to Alaska. Among the many people and creatures who loved Annie dearly, we are all at peace knowing she is in her final resting place with Gizzy purring on her lap and eating a cannoli. We know that Annie was devoted to her faith and would want us to smile as big as she did every day, knowing now she is in a wonderful place.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena parish, 620 Rymal Road East Hamilton, on Friday December 27, 2024, at 11 am. Following mass a celebration of life will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East Hamilton, from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, where we will welcome your stories, laughter, memories and your prayers.
