Anna Ruth Moore – 80, Truro, passed away on Saturday, June 3,
2023, at Cedarstone Enhanced Care, after a lengthy illness. Born in
Shubenacadie, Anna was the youngest of the nine children of David and
Marion (Fraser) Moore.
Anna had many happy memories of growing up on a dairy farm
with her large family. Anna was a proud and independent woman who had
a 31-year career working in the insurance industry for what became
Royal Sun Alliance, retiring in 1997. She spoke highly of her work
experiences and colleagues and had great respect for her boss of many
years who she always fondly referred to as «Mr. Saunders».
Anna was an adherent of First United Church, Truro. She was an
accomplished athlete with a special interest in golf and bowling,
which she devoted a lot of her free time to improving her skills. She
made many golfing and bowling friends over the years.
Anna is survived by her sister, Eleanor Frame, Truro; 21
nephews and nieces. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her
sisters, Mary, Barbara, Clara, Frances, Margaret; brothers, Henry and
David. Thank you to the staff at Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Garden Road
wing, for the wonderful and loving care they have given Anna over
these many years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service
will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Reception
will follow. Interment will be held at Preeper Hill Cemetery,
Shubenacadie at a later date. If so desired, a donation in
Anna’s memory to a charity of choice are welcomed. Public
