KALMAN, Anna (nee Schwartz) – Peacefully on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the age of 104. Wife of the late Gusztav Kalman and the late Max Dollin. Fiercely loving mother of Elaine (Archie Fineberg) and Judith (John Trainor) of Toronto. Cherished Grandma of Jessica Naves Gladman (Aviv Gladman), Rebecca Naves-Novak (David Novak), Nathan Kalman-Lamb (Jennifer Selk), and Gideon Kalman-Lamb (Anna Lermer). Doting Oma of Ella, Sam, Ben, Amelia, and Elizabeth. Inspiring kindergarten teacher of hundreds of children at John Jenkins and Dalkeith schools in the 1960s and 70s. She was our matriarch and role model for how to strive through adversity. The family wishes to acknowledge the kindness and faithful dedication of her companions Ivy Johnson and Patricia Fraser and the compassionate professionalism of the staff of 4 South at Maimonides Geriatric Centre. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, September 26 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Beth Israel Garden Section, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Duvernay. Shiva at Elaine and Archie’s home. Due to the Festival of Sukkot, shiva will end Friday morning.
