Anna (Kwantes) Benschop was born January 25th 1937 in Andijk, The Netherlands to Matthew and Jesse Kwantes. At the age of 2, Anna immigrated to Houston, BC with her family. The family grew and after some years and moves they settled in Vancouver.
Anna enrolled in the nursing program at Blodgett Memorial Hospital, Grand Rapids, MI and graduated as a registered nurse. She met Len and married in 1962 and moved to Little Britian, ON living on the farm. In 1982 they moved to Wooler, ON once again farming. Anna moved with Len off the farm and into Trenton in 2013. God blessed them with 54 years of marriage before Len went home to the Lord in 2016. Over the last 3 years Anna’s health declined but she never complained, instead she thanked God for His blessings and many years of health with her family.
The last year and a half mom spent at Trent Valley Lodge in Trenton. We are ever grateful for their love and care for her during that time. We are also thankful that mom was able to share her faith with those who cared for her and was able to bless them with her cheerful smile and encouraging words.
Loving mother to her children Jeanette Benschop, Adrian (Kathleen) Benschop, Matt (Joanne) Benschop, Len (Diane) Benschop, Adriana (Clarence) Veld, and grandmother to Rachel (Chris), Curtis, Rebecca, Tristan, Ashtyn, Lane, Nathaniel, Ellyanna and Adrian.
She is also survived by her siblings, Dick (Anne) Kwantes, Matt (Dorothy) Kwantes, Mary (Jack) Dekok, Luke (Alyse) Kwantes, and Tena Blink and predeceased by John (Thea) Kwantes, Harry (Ree) Kwantes, and Meindert Blink.
Also survived by in-laws Jeanne Dykstra, Shirley (Harry) Hagens, Adriana (John) Struyk, Arie (Ginger) Zekveld and many nieces and nephews.
Resting at Rushnell Funeral Centre 60 Division St Trenton ON, on Friday October 27, 3-5pm and 7-9pm.
Funeral service will be held at Port Hope Free Presbyterian Church, 184 Toronto Rd. Port Hope ON on Saturday October 28th at 10am.
Following a light lunch, interment will take place at 3pm at Pleasant Point Cemetery, Algonquin Rd Kawartha Lakes ON.
