Angeline «Angie» McGuinty Obituary
Peacefully passed away with family by her side on Friday, November 17th at the North Bay Regional Health Centre at the age of 96 years. Angie was the beloved wife of the late Maurice McGuinty. She was a loving mother to the late Maurice Jr. (Heather), the late Fay, the late Colleen, Conway, Grant, Karen Sarlo, Everett (Seungwan), Darin, and Allyson. Cherished grandmother of Keely (Hubert), Erin (Liezett), Ashleigh (Rony), Skyler (Ashley), Tefen, Madison, Kelly, Andrew, and Jazlyn. Angie is predeceased by her parents Anthony and Elizabeth (Sabourin) Fay and her siblings Violet, Irene, Helene, Agnes, Alice, Rene, Gene, Herbie, Edwin, Julia and Gerald. She will be dearly missed by a number of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In Mom’s early years she was a manager at Zellers Department Store, soon after she met and married Maurice McGuinty. She was a very loving and devoted mother raising 9 children. Mom was a life-long member of the CWL at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption and enjoyed supporting events within the church. Our mother had amazing creative talent as seen by her being one of the first in North Bay to teach ceramics out of the house to well over a hundred women. Mom then joined the family business as Office Manager until she retired at the age of 65. The McGuinty family household was known by all generations as the place to entertain and mom cherished family get togethers over her lifetime. While we will miss her dearly, we know her parents, 11 siblings, our father and 3 brothers and sisters awaited her arrival today to begin the next celebration. We are so happy to see the smile we know will be on her face when walking through the gates of heaven to see her family today.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Empire Living Centre, and to the very kind staff for their professionalism and warm hearts, also to Dr O’Grady and the nurses at the North Bay Regional Health Centre for making our mothers final journey so peaceful. We would also like to express our love to close family friends Cathy Marmino and Steve Sarlo for looking after our mother with love and compassion in their hearts.
The family will welcome visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Sunday, November 19th, 2023 between the hours of 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 10:00 am. Interment, St Mary’s Cemetery.
