Obituary
With great sadness we communicate the passing of Andrew Tarnowski, at the age of 81.
Andrew was born a refugee, in Hungary in 1942; the son of Count Jan Kasimir Tarnowski Urbanski and Barbara Tarnowska Zuromska (his beloved mother who would later become an accomplished artist of note).
After an early life of fleeing from country to country, Andrew, his parents and his siblings (Marisienka, Isabel, Cristina, Magdalena and Peter, all of whom survive him) emigrated to Uruguay, South America were Andrew would complete his education as an agronomist, as well as meet and marry Adela Pereira Machado on September 14, 1967. She would be his faithful and devoted wife for over 56 years.
In 1969, Andrew and Adela emigrated to Canada where they built a life for themselves, and their four children; John, Veronica, Angelica (Bret), and Gerard. He is survived by his wife, all four of his children and five adored grandchildren; Athena, Nolan, Rocco, Corbin, and Lux.
Andrew was a devout and lifelong Catholic, and active in the Knights of Columbus for many years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 10th, 2023 at 1:00 pm at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 210 Haddow Close NW.
