Passed away peacefully on Thursday February 1, 2024, at Mackenzie Health, Richmond Hill, surrounded by her family. Loving wife of Angelo of 70 years. Devoted and loving mother of Rodolfo (Olga), and Osvaldo (Maria). Caring nonna of Anthony (Daniela), Matthew (Lucia), Jordan (Sarah), Patricia (Yandier) and Patricio (Karen). Bis nonna of Cristian, Isabella, Fabian, Julianna, Mattias and Matteo. Angelo and Amelia were both born and raised in Cassino, Italy where they met as neighbours, fell in love and got married. Angelo moved to Argentina for work and Amelia joined him in 1954. Later her two sons were born. Angelo became a bricklayer and Amelia ran the convenience store, raised her family, all the while building the family home. The family moved to Canada to be with her sister. Once here she inherited her passion for being a seamstress. Her strength carried her through to be with her husband Angelo and her family until she went into God’s hands. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her, and she will be fondly remembered for her love of cooking, especially her lasagna, cheesecakes, and muffins, to name a few. Amelia will also be remembered for her amazing memory, intelligence, kindness, and her caring and nurturing nature.
Family and friends may call on Monday, February 5th from 1-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. at MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 6th at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of the World Parish, 10411 Bayview Avenue, Richmond Hill. Entombment Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 8361 Yonge Street, Thornhill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada. Online condolences may be left at marshallfuneralhome.com
