Obituary
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Alonzo, who embarked on his final journey on April 29, 2024. He peacefully departed from this world, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Born March 1, 1938, Alonzo had his love for fishing, but held an even deeper love for his family. Though his passing leaves a void in our lives that can never be filled, Lon’s spirit will forever live on in the laughter of his grandchildren, the stories and accordion music shared around the dinner table, and the gentle whisper of the ocean waves.
Predeceased by his son, Todd; he is survived by his devoted wife, Verna; his loving children, Paul (Lana), Joanne (Todd); his adoring grandchildren, Jessica Norman, Brooke Godsland, and Jacob Reid; family members Michael Hamilton, Angela (Don), Jacob and Jon Beck; and a host of other beloved family members and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts always.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House or the Daffodil Place, in honor of Alonzo’s courageous battle against cancer.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Warren’s Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Warren’s Funeral Home. May we come together to honor his memory, find solace in the love and support of one another, and celebrate the remarkable life of a man who touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Rest in peace, dear Lon. Your humor, your love, and your laughter will never be forgotten.
