Obituary of Allan MacPhee
The family of Raymond Allan MacPhee sadly announce his passing on occurred on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a courageous battle with ALS. The manufacturers of Doritos, Franks Red Hot, milk chocolate, and Jameson’s Whiskey, will see a dip in their profits.
Allan entered this world on December 22, 1962, in Sudbury, ON. He was a son of the late N. Ervin and Joan (Marr) MacPhee. Allan’s family moved back to the Quispamsis area in 1969. This is when he met his best friend, Rob Dobbin. They remained friends until Rob’s passing in 2022. Allan was active in many sports, in true MacPhee competitive spirit. He enjoyed and was active in soccer, baseball, and golf with his childhood friends.
Allan was employed with Cat Rentals for many years and enjoyed his time there until he had to retire due to ALS. There he made many friends and acquittances. It was through his work that he met his future wife, Kelly. Allan and Kelly wed on June 21, 2013. Allan loved having an instant family of two sons, Luke and Logan, wonderful in-laws, sisters-in-laws and their families. His life went from a group of five family members to double digits. The gems were the grandchildren that arrived in succession, Asia Leigh, Keaton, and Kaliyah. In 2023, another child, Cohen was added to the fold.
Allan had a passion for learning, He was an avid reader, studied politics, astrology, history and discussed current events with many. So many folks were blessed by his intelligence, patience, and kindness. Allan was so appreciative and loved everything Kelly did for him when he was diagnosed with ALS within a year of marriage. With support and always joking and many laughs, they learned to appreciate life.
Besides his loving wife Kelly MacDougall-MacPhee, Allan is survived by his chosen sons; Luke Rousselle of Fielding, NB, and Logan Rousselle (Anthony Vu) of Kingston, ON, grandchildren; Asia-Leigh, Keaton, and Kaliyah Rousselle, and the newest member of Luke’s family, Cohen McHattey-Laurence, his brother Neil MacPhee (Geri) of Las Vegas, NV, good friends, as well as aunts, cousins and many extended family.
Allan was predeceased by his parents, Ervin and Joan.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nurses, and staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital as well as his numerous caregivers over the years, for their care and support towards Allan.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119) with visitation on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, from 2-4PM and 6-8 PM. A celebration of Allan’s life will be held at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 11AM. For those unable to attend, a livestream of Allan’s service can be viewed by clicking on the provided link. Interment will take place at a later date in the Mineral Cemetery in Kent.
