Alizah Anne Lewis was born on August 30th, 2012 in the UK to Joe and Marisa. Ally Girl, as she was called, lived in Solihull where she attended Sue’s daycare for the first few years of her life. Unlike many other children her age, Ally loved Sue’s daycare and learned much from there including sweet sassy talk. When she was three years old Ally really wanted a sibling and her little brother James was born in 2016 who Ally was very proud of and protected fiercely.
Alizah attended St. Augustine’s school from Kindergarten to Grade 1 and later Damson Wood for Grade 2. Her kind and cheerful nature drew people to her and she had friends in every grade, from kindergarten up to grade 6. She is a Solihull girl, she would say and loved the years she spent there. Those were busy years, with sports days and swimming classes and ballet lessons and birthday parties, and horse riding. She was even able to take part in a ballet recital of «Charlie and the Chocolate Factory».
From the age of 5, she started her journey with her illness and it’s been a long and difficult road since then. When she was 6 years old, her family moved to Canada. She had already touched so many lives in Solihull, that there were a whole host of people to say goodbye and to tell her they would miss her.
ln Calgary Canada, she attended St. Joseph’s school until 2020 and here too she made many friends. ln 2020, she started her transplant journey and along with the team at Alberta Children’s Hospital fought valiantly for the next four years. Despite the many hurdles she faced she was still a ray of sunshine and she touched the hearts of all who knew her. Every doctor and nurse who fought with her, were her friends and cared for her with so much love. She received her first Holy Communion in December of 2021 and was dressed like a bride along with her doll, Annabelle.
From the age of 2, Ally had a talent for art, and our home is filled with a multitude of drawings, paintings, and sculptures. She was an artiste extraordinaire and she even had her own Art show in September 2022 at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. She was «famous» as she liked to say.
She loved babies and had 28 baby dolls that she named and loved and cherished. She was so excited when her baby cousins and baby neighbor were born. She loved them like they were her own. She loved life and loved to dress up and be beautiful. She loved all things glittery and the colour purple. She was a princess. She loved rainbows and lived life in full colour.
This little angel will always be missed. Sleep in Jesus little Angel.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services North (3625 12 St NE) on Thursday May 11, 2023 at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ascension Catholic Church (1100 Berkshire Blvd NW) on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 11:00am with live streaming available through the links below for those unable to attend in person.
