Alice passed away peacefully at the age of 97, family by her side, on June 6, 2024.
She endured many health problems during her life, including cancer, but remained active. She enjoyed socializing, loved to sing (or hum to her favorite songs), and her many hobbies included:
• sewing (made her daughter’s wedding dress)
• expert at knitting and crochet; hundreds of items for family and friends over the years
• cooking; amazing collection of cookbooks, always trying new recipes
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert (in 2005 at the age of 79) and her baby daughter Joan.
Alice is survived by her younger sister Denise, son Bob Ward (wife Doreen), and daughter Patricia Wingate (husband Paul).
‘GG’ will be missed by her grandchildren, Wayne (wife Wendy), Becky, Matthew and Danny and her great grandchildren, Andrew (wife Ashley), Hailey, Madison, Jackson and Ezra.
Thank you to the doctors, nurses and support staff at Lakeridge Ajax Pickering and Bowmanville hospitals and AFTERCARE.
A memorial service will be held in Pickering at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (Liverpool Rd. and Finch Rd.) on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
