Alice Lind Obituary
Alice Lind, 74 (February 2, 1950), of Cobden, Ontario passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer at her home surrounded by her loving partner and children on March 29, 2024. Survived by her beloved partner, devoted caregiver and soul mate of 25 years, Dale Dickie; her children: Anita Laundry, Edmonton; Scott (Nicole) Laundry, Arnprior; Nichole (Alex) Keddy, Mississauga and Trevor Lind, Arnprior; Her stepchildren: Shawn Dickie, Aylmer and Kimberly Sawlor, Aylmer. Her grandchildren: Raine and Sierra (Keddy); her step grandchildren: Raena, Dresden, Trey, Kieran and Jude (Sawlor); Esther, Seth, Ellily, and Eva (Dickie). Her brothers: Welland (Helen) Smith; Nelson (Joanne) Smith; Dean (Tammy) Smith. Predeceased by her parents: William (Bill) and Vivian (Young) Smith and her sister: Linda Quast. Alice loved sports. In her younger years she loved to play softball and was a star player on many teams. She loved her Toronto Blue Jays and enjoyed watching every game possible. In recent weeks she would rise from her sick bed to watch the Curling Championships and pre-season Jays games. Alice loved the holidays and decorated her home beautifully for each one. Christmas being her favourite. She was a much-loved member of the Cobden & District Seniors Association. Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be laid to rest in the family plot in Beachburg. A celebration of life is planned for Friday April 5, 2024 at the Cobden Legion 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Special thanks to the staff of Connect Well and the Renfrew County Paramedics and the Bayshore Home and Community Care Support team in particular her nurse, Kerry Nolan who provided her with excellent care during her difficult journey with cancer.
