It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Alexander “Alex” George Pinhorn of Winterton, age 56 years.
Predeceased by parents, Donald and Nellie Pinhorn (nee Bryant); grandparents: John and Elizabeth Pinhorn, Philip and Gertrude Bryant; parents-in-law: William and Catherine Coombs; uncle: Alexander Pinhorn; cousin: Philip Hiscock.
Leaving to mourn with precious memories, the two loves of his life, wife: Wanda Pinhorn (nee Coombs), daughter: Leah Pinhorn; fur baby: Belle; sister: Adella “Dee” Green (Roger); special niece and nephew: Lauren and Bradley Green; sisters-in-law: Margaret (Bud), Ann (Bruce), Daphne (Rick), Mona (Bob), Kathleen (Mike), and Georgina (Rod); brothers-in-law: Bill (Helen), Walt (Maxine), and Tom; uncles: George (Bet) and Wallace; aunts: Florence, Blanche, Kay (Bob), Patsy (Terry) and Donna; good friends: Bill and Carolanne Pitcher; neighbours: Charlie and Rona Reid, Darrell and Kim Reid, Lee Broaders, and Michelle and Carl Pike; and a large circle of other relatives, friends, and co-workers.
Alex was a loving husband and father. He always enjoyed spending time with his family and cat. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed meeting new people. He spent many years working in and with the public. Last year, he was blessed with his dream job at Marine Atlantic, working on the water and getting to meet so many new and wonderful people and friends. Alex was quiet, subtle, and extremely kindhearted. He provided exceptional care to his parents and grandparents during their times of need. He was well loved by all his family and friends and will be deeply missed.
Visitation at Green’s Funeral Home, Main Road, Winterton on Saturday, August 24 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral service to take place on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Heart’s Content.
Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Winterton.
