It is with broken hearts we announce that a beautiful heart stopped beating, and he is now reunited with his beloved Teresa (2014).
Loving and devoted Papa of Anna Iannetta-Amicarelli and Rosemary Iannetta-Gilham (Rob). Proud and cherished Nonno of Madeline, Alexandra, Clare, and Jordan, Ryan, Liam, and Aidan. Predeceased by his parents Enrico & Maria Iannetta. Dear brother of Rosina Teti (the late Giuseppe), Gina Masella (Giovanni) of Italy, Giuseppe (Joe) & Anna Iannetta, and Antonietta Crolla (the late Vincenzo) of Scotland. Brother in law of Maria Saroli (the late Enrico), and predeceased by Domenico Iannetta (Rosina), and Vittorio Iannetta (Palma) of Italy. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends in Canada and Italy.
Alberto was born in Mignano Montelungo, Caserta, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1959. In 1963, he returned to Italy to marry his beloved Teresa where together they made their home here in Canada. He retired as a machine operator from Masotti Construction in 1990 where he made many lifelong friendships. He spent his retirement tending to his garden, especially his fig and lemon trees, baking his famous limoncello cake, and volunteering at St. Angela Merici Church as an Usher and Eucharistic Minister, but his greatest joy came from the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
His selfless love for his daughters and grandchildren was unparalleled. He was our guiding light and our hero. To know him was to love him. To be loved by him was a gift.
A special thank you to his siblings Rosina, Joe & Anna for the endless support, visits, meals, and care for Papa. Thank you to Joanne and Pasquale for all the meals and support and all the kind gestures from all those who cared. Also a thank you to the VONs, Matt and Geet, as well as the Hospice Windsor and Dr. Bergeron for allowing him to spend the remainder of his days at home.
Donations may be made to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation or a mass offering to St. Angela Merici Church.
Visiting Friday 3-5 & 7-9 pm with parish prayers at 4:30 pm.
On Saturday, family and friends are invited to meet after 8:30 am at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor, 519-969-5841 for procession to St. Angela Merici Church for mass of Christian burial at 10 am. Entombment Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
“Dear Papa and Nonno, you are always in our hearts, and we will love you forever.”
