Peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2024, in his ninety-fourth year. Devoted husband of the late Frances Cowan for sixty-seven years. Beloved father and father-in-law of Sandi and Howard Smolar, Marlene and Barry Barth. Loving grandfather of Jennifer and Mike Sheffren, Jason and Jen Smolar, Justin Smolar and fiancée Stephanie Oliverio; Stacey and AJ Maislin, David and Rachel Barth. Proud great-grandfather of Paige and Olivia Sheffren, Sadie and Lucy Smolar; Hailey and Cassie Maislin, Mason and Emma Barth. Brother and brother-in-law of the late Solly and the late Sadie Eisenberg, the late Faye Eisenberg; and brother-in-law of the late Arlene Stein. A very special thanks to Al’s caregivers Sharon and Joanne. Graveside service on Wednesday, March 13 at 1:00 p.m. at the Shaare Zion Beth-El Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva following burial until 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday only at 5845 Marc-Chagall Ave, Côte Saint-Luc, in the reception room. Shiva to continue in Florida.
