Aeryal Roseanne Stefanik
1985 – 2023
Aeryal Roseanne Stefanik of Stettler, AB passed away suddenly on May 7, 2023. Born to Walter and Alana on June 29, 1985, in Viking, AB the family moved to Big Valley when Aeryal was 5 years old. She took all her schooling in Big Valley and Stettler. She was known for her athleticism and her love for sports. Being the only girl she always had to prove how tough she was and was always in competition with her brothers. She played A male hockey till finishing grade 12. She excelled at badminton and played on the Queens Red Deer College team, winning an ACAC All Conference team award. She was an amazing fastball player and was offered a scholarship to the State University of Oklahoma but turned it down as she did not want to leave her family surroundings. Aeryal shared her family’s passion for slo-pitch when she started playing tournaments at 13. Every summer, almost every weekend was spent on the diamonds with her family. She became a phenomenal third baseman who would wow everyone with diving catches and an arm every baserunner feared. Family was everything to her. When her youngest brother Ryland was born 13 years her junior, she often took on the responsibility of raising him in his formative years. Ryland held a very special place in her heart. When her nieces and nephews started arriving on the scene her attention was turned to them. She loved them all and she knew the way to their hearts was to always have lots of candy on hand. She loved to play with them and cheer them on in their hockey games. One of her favorite recent memories was playing shinny with them.
Aeryal was a very independent woman. She hated the thought of ever burdening her family with anything even though she was always the first one to help out family. She could work like a man she was so strong. Her work ethic went beyond, making sure no matter what it was she was doing it was going to be not just good but the best job. Aeryal was someone who would always try to make someone else’s day better. She wanted to make sure everyone around her, whether it was just the store clerk or a friend she hadn’t seen for a while, or a teammate that needed encouragement, to be happy. She loved her yard and was endlessly coming up with new ideas. There were always plans and uses for a pallet somewhere. Her six cats were a constant joy for her. And she loved to put her $1 bets on sports teams and make a couple bucks.
What is more important than ever, was her faith. Aeryal was a strong believer in Christ and was deeply committed to her faith in God. She professed her faith over and over even though she lived a complicated life.
Till we meet again our sweet Aeryal.
Those left to mourn her loss are; parents Walter and Alana; brothers Chanse (Loralee) and children Willow, Erika, Akaileya and Kyaira; Ty (Adriana) and children Hawk, Brody, Kade and Reed; Keelan (Chelsea), Reece (Erica) and children Ryker, Deacon, Ronin and Mira; Ryland; her special friend Darnell Holland; as well as uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Aeryal was predeceased by grandparents John and Anna Stefanik, Willard Fouts, Doris Gray and Auntie Mel.
