With much sadness, we share the loss of our most precious Mother, Nonna, and Bisnonna, who went peacefully
into the arms of our Lord.
Loving mother of Janice (Jim Kaufman), Elaine (Peter Willmott), Frances (Bill Prisniak), Joanne Sclisizzi and Noreen Martens. Predeceased by her dear husband Otello, son Paul and son-in-law Frank Martens. Beloved Nonna to Alisa, Michael, Mary, Michelle, Amy, Lauren, Jessica, Paul, Alex, Jane and Miles. Loving Bisnonna to Ryan, Katie, Kiara, Shoji, Jackson, Wesley, Lucas, Evan, William, Noelle Ada and Remie. Dear sister of Joyce Haslam, and sister-in-law of Duelia Serafini. Predeceased by her loving parents, Luigi and Giuseppina Serafini and siblings: Inez (Frank Scapinello), Nora (Babe Clement), Elmer, Ralph (Norma)
and Redo (Sheila).
Ada was born in Milton over 101 years ago, and lived in town her whole life. She was a child during the depression and young adult during WWII which made her grateful for everything she received in life. She married and dedicated herself to raising her children in a home bursting with activity. She attended evening classes for more than 30 years, taking courses to further her natural curiosity, knowledge and building on her special talents. She could cook, bake, sew and garden like a professional. She was a faithful, devoted member of Holy Rosary Parish and was a co-founder of Holy Rosary Catholic Women’s League. She worked hard every day keeping the home running and the gardens growing. Ada worked outside the home, volunteered for years, belonged to clubs, travelled across Canada, visited Mexico, U.S. and Europe. Ada was positive and cheerful, she felt so blessed to have lived a big life in a small town.
God bestowed Ada with a long life for which her family is thankful.
Whenever we see a beautiful garden, we will remember her with love.
The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the staff of Allendale (Halton House) for taking excellent care of our Mother Ada. She spoke affectionately of you all and considered you her friends.
Family and friends are welcomed to gather at the McKersie & Early Funeral Home, 114 Main Street East, Milton Ontario
(905) 878-4452 on Thursday November 30, 2023 from 4pm to 7pm, with vigil prayers commencing at 6:30pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Rosary Parish, 139 Martin Street Milton on Friday December 1, 2023 at 11am,
followed by a luncheon at the Parish Hall. Interment will take place at the Milton Evergreen Cemetery.
