It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Achim Bucutea on September 4th, 2024, in Vaughan, Canada, at the age of 75.
Achim leaves behind the legacy of a life lived with courage and remarkable achievements, both in Romania and in his adopted country, Canada. A lover of poetry and nature, he was a tireless promoter of Romanian traditions, which he shared with the young generation whenever he had the chance. He was a contributor to Observatorul newspaper, and through his poems and prose, he always carried the longing for his homeland in his heart.
He is survived by his beloved wife Angela, his life partner of 55 years, his daughter Rodica, his son-in-law Hadrian, and his grandson Alex, who are left with hearts full of grief but also with cherished memories.
Although Achim is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in his writings and in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, dear Chimi!
Friends, members of the Romanian community, and all who knew him are invited to say their final goodbyes:
Saturday, September 14th, 2024, between 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM, at Saint George Romanian Church, 247 Rosethorn Avenue, Toronto. Service at 1:30 PM.
The burial will take place at Beechwood Cemetery, 7241 Jane St, Vaughan, on Saturday, September 14th, 2024 around 3:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint George Romanian Church in Toronto (www.romanianchurchtoronto.com).
