Georgie Ashburn (née Pearson), in her 88th year, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Joseph Brant Hospital after battling a serious blood infection for several weeks. She goes to be with her dearly missed husband Bob who passed away in 2001. She will be missed by her children Kathryn (Rick) and Rob (Anita).
She adored her 5 granddaughters, Lauren (Kyle), Victoria (Francois), Sharon (Shaun), Jessica (Dan) and Melissa (Peter). GG spent every chance she got bragging about her 6 great grandchildren, Harrison, Evie, Nolan, Carson, Jack and Quinn Alice (her namesake).
She will be dearly missed by friends, cousins, her sister, Ann (Don), in Blind River, as well as Ev, her dear friend of 70 years.
We will miss her sense of humour, and hope she is now pain free and having a cocktail with dad, preferably on the back of their boat Aloha Summer, with Mike the dog at their feet.
Special thank you to all the staff at Joseph Brant Hospital, especially the palliative care unit.
They went above and beyond with mom’s care and their compassion was truly appreciated.
Cremation has taken place.
