Carl Franklin McKinley
1945-2023
Carl Franklin McKinley, 77, of Albert Mines passed
away peacefully on April 12, 2023 at his home with his
loved ones by his side.
He was born in Alma on June 20th, 1945 the son of
Rolston and Annie (Houlahan)
McKinley.
Carl was a Truck Driver for over 47 years. He
worked for Safety Clean and Clean Harbours for 13 years and last
worked for Nelson Waste Management in the Hillsborough area after
returning home. He had a passion for old cars and enjoyed
going to the car shows. He had a special place in his heart
for animals and especially loved his dogs. Carl was
a man with lots of stories to tell and had many friends that
he enjoyed spending time with and had many laughs throughout his
lifetime. He had a great sense of humour and a very large
grin when he was up to something. He could be very
entertaining. His smile will be fondly remembered by all who
knew him. He would want everyone to think of a good time
they shared and reminisce about all the fun times they
had. «To live in hearts we leave
behind is not to
die.» Memories
are a great way to immortalize those you
love.
He felt blessed to have his wife Audrey and his girls help
fulfill his last request and be cared for him in his home until he
passed. The care they gave over the past year after his
diagnosis with cancer has been unwavering and Carl was very grateful
for everything they did. He also had many friends that would
call or stop by and this meant the world to
him.
Special thanks to Dr. Richard Morcom for the exceptional
care and support he has given. It meant so much not only to
Carl but all the family to have such kindness shown, it will never be
forgotten.
He will be deeply missed by his best friend and wife,
Audrey (Amero) McKinley; his children, Wanda McKinley-Shannon (Terry)
of Hillsborough, Walter McKinley (Judy) of Salem Rd., Rosa Geldart of
Hillsborough, Manda McKinley-Bice (Mike) of Ontario and Kellye Torppa
(Eric) of Boston; his grandchildren, Damian, Alexandra, Michael,
Patrick, Stephanie, Victoria, Ashley, Vincent, Heidi, Ashleigh,
Tiffanee and Kierstyn; great grandchildren, Landon, Ryleigh and
Austin; and he will be greatly missed by his fur
baby, Bo. He is survived by his sister, Ardith and by
several nieces, nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by
brothers, Ralph, Alfred and Robert.
He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with a
time of visitation on Monday, April 17th from 6-9pm. The
funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April
18th, 2023 at 2:00pm with Pastor Paul Steeves officiating.
Interment will be in the Bayview Cemetery, Harvey, NB at a later
date.
For those who wish donations to the Bayview Cemetery in
Carl’s memory would be greatly appreciated by the
family.
Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral
