In Celebration of
Chester Edmund Gajda
August 18, 1932 –
April 6, 2023
The Gajda family is sad to announce the passing of Chester Gajda, their dearest husband, father, step-father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend at the age of 90.
Chester is survived by his wife Joan, his daughter Catherine (James), his step-son David, his grandchildren Alyssa (Rory), Andrea, Alexis (Everett), Hunter (Toni) and Lily, and his great-grandchildren Coalton, Hayzel, Rhyer. He was sadly predeceased by his first wife Andrena, and his son, Richard (Kathy).
Chester was born in Montreal, Quebec in 1932 before moving to Toronto with his parents, Francis and Walenty, as a child. Having lived a life full of stories, Chester never stopped until the end. His smile and laugh were always contagious, and the adventures kept getting bigger (much like the fish he caught).
The family would like to thank Cassandra and the staff at the Village of Humber Heights, Brule for taking such good care of Chester these past few years.
Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter, Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St West, Etobicoke on Friday, April 14th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. A brief Service will be held in the Turner & Porter Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2023 and a reception to follow.
In memory of Chester, and in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
