It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Filomena on Friday, March 31, 2023, surrounded by her children, at Ridgeview Long Term Care Centre in Stoney Creek at the age of 95.
Beloved wife of the late Stefano (2014) for 47 years. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Joanna and Jamie Stapleton, Enza and Brian Finlay, Carlo and Dorothy Schiraldi and Antonetta and Chris Bielak. Adored nonna of Nicholas (Channae), Jacob, Billy, Matthew, Nathaniel, Caleb and Owen and great-grandmother of Kyrie and Myles. Dearest sister of Franco and the late Nilla Palumbo, the late Michele and Anna Palumbo, Leonardo Palumbo, Maria and the late Michele Presta and Chiara Palumbo and sister-in-law of Domenica and the late Francesco Mazzilli. Filomena will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada, Italy and the USA.
Filomena was a faithful servant of Jehovah for over 40 years. Special thanks to the amazing staff at Ridgeview Long Term Care Centre for their loving care and compassion.
Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Entombment to take place at Bayview Cemetery in Burlington on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 10 a.m. Memorial Service will be held a week later at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah`s Witnesses, 217 Glover Road, Stoney Creek, on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 3:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Canada and would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
