CONNOR, David Anthony “Dave” -age 67 of Enfield.
Our beloved Dave passed away on March 26, 2023 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, after a long battle with cancer. Born on October 25, 1955, in Arichat, Cape Breton, he was a son of the late Hugh and Flora (Knox) Connor.
For many years Dave was very much a part of the local business community, both in East Hants and Halifax. He owned many successful businesses including his current one, Landmark Services, which he proudly operated with his son Joshua. Dave was a true entrepreneur at heart, hardworking, persuasive and optimistic. Both in business and in his home, he was a mentor to many young people whom he loved, taught, adopted, inspired and gave comfort.
He had a wonderful sense of humour, a clever wit, and that Cape Breton charm. He was a lover of baseball, especially the Blue Jays. He was a common sight at the ballfields across East Hants, never missing a game or a practice, and helping coach and manage many competitive teams. Those times were followed by countless more moments, watching his boys at the rinks and the ballfields across the country. He organized and planned two-family cross-country trips to the Canada Games with his boys, and always found a way, despite any odds, to make their dreams come true.
Dave’s proudest moments was the birth of each and every one of his five sons. He was a beloved grandfather, and cherished each addition to his family, holding each baby with joy, and each toddler with fun and play. He had a genuine joy and wonder at all the promise of this new generation, and that love surely came back to Grampy Dave.
He is survived by his absolute pride and joy; sons, Ryan Connor (Sarah), Randal Connor, Jeremy Connor (Janelle), Joshua Connor (Hanna Tappen) and Jacob Connor (Simone), his beloved nephew/sixth son, Colton Mailman (Brandi Boudreau); grandchildren, Abigail, Ella, Callum, Olivia, Max, Kai, Madelyn, Cru and Mia Connor; sisters, Cathy Linden (Dave) and Christine Connor; brothers, Barry Connor (Myrna) and John Connor (Bernice); his sister-in-law, Vangie Mailman.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Paul, and mother to his five boys, Jeanne.
His family would like to welcome all those that knew Dave either through work, sport or community involvement to 2 events: a visitation from 4-7pm on Thursday in Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie as well as a Celebration of his Life will be held from 2-7pm Friday, March 31st in the Enfield Legion, Branch 133.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
