1930-2023
The family of Joyce McDougall of Plaster Rock, NB, wishes to announce
her passing at home on March 23, 2023 after a brief period of
declining health.
Joyce was born September 30, 1930 in Perth-Andover, NB, to Luther and
Pauline (Johnson) Doughty. She lived all her life in Burntland Brook
until moving in town in 1987. She lived a good full life surrounded by
family. She loved going for drives, bird watching, and her faith.
Just shy of 93 years, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 63 years,
Coleman McDougall; her son, Ken McDougall and daughter-in-law, Joy
McDougall (Diamond); her daughter, Lorie Jensen; her infant son,
Douglas Allen; granddaughter, Peggy McDougall; grandson, Scott
McDougall; and her only brother, Floyd Doughty.
Left to remember are her sons, Coleman McDougall Jr. of Plaster Rock,
NB, Ron McDougall (Brenda Ouellette) of Burntland Brook, NB, Richard
McDougall (Paula) of Weaver, NB; her daughters, Tish Giberson
(Stanley) of Sisson Brook, NB, Angie Mulherin (Bill) of Plaster Rock,
NB; her son-in-law, Dave Jensen; 16 grandchildren, 30 great
grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren will dearly miss the
Gram they loved so much.
The family will be forever grateful to Dr. Barry Wecker, the
Extra-Mural staff, the home care support, and Cari for their devotion
and care that allowed Mom to go peacefully at home as per her
wishes.
Resting at the Tobique Chapel in Plaster Rock, NB, with visitation of
Monday from 1-3 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 27,
2023 at 3 pm from the Tobique Chapel. Rev. Oral McAfee officiating.
Interment will follow in the Burntland Brook Cemetery.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the Mama Bear Cancer Fund,
the Burntland Brook Cemetery or to a charity of your choice would be
appreciated by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock, NB.
