It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Alonzo Kenneth Power of Marystown announces his passing. Alonzo passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Thursday, March 16th, 2023, at the age of 62.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife, Jean of 34 years; daughter, Wendy Hollett (Craig) of Paradise; 2 very special grandsons, Matthew and Noah who were the light of Poppy Lonz’s world; sisters, Elizabeth Cheeseman (Joseph) of Marystown and Mercedes Rose (Harold) of Marystown; brothers, Charles Power (Deliah) of St. John’s, Richard Power (Edna) of Marystown, Bill Power of Marystown, Jack Power (Patsy) of Marystown and Calvin Power (Doloras) of Marystown; brothers-in-law, James Hanrahan (Ruth) of Little Bay and Douglas Shepard (Claudette) of BC; sisters-in-law, Velma Burry of Lewisporte and Christine Hillier (Clyde) of Campbellton; special friend and right hand man, Gordon Hickman of Marystown; plus a large circle of relatives and friends.
Alonzo was predeceased by his parents, Lucy & Michael Power; baby brother, Michael; sister, Joan Hanrahan; sister-in-law, Jackie Power; parents-in-law, Gordon & Loretta Sheppard; and brother-in-law, Calvert Burry.
In honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. An inurnment for family and close friends will be held at a later date.
