Obituary
Jean Pearl Beers, October 25, 1933 to January 2, 2023
On Monday January 2, 2023 Jean Pearl Beers (Nee Barnes) passed away at the age of 89 at Champlain Manor. Beloved wife of Delbert Beers (Predeceased August 2014). Loving Mother to Robert (Nancy), Tom (Predeceased October 2018), Dale and Dean (Roseanne). Grandmother to nine grandchildren and ten Great Grandchildren.
Jean grew up on a farm in the Udney area. After marrying Delbert Beers on July 28, 1951, they settled on a farm in Severn Township. She worked extremely hard raising four boys as well as helping with “the daily grind” on the farm. She was a mother who cared deeply for her four boys and always wanted the best for them. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren baking and making crafts. Jean’s health had been good up until the dementia set in. Her last years were difficult as her memory was all but gone. For almost the last six years of her life she lived at Champlain Manor. While enjoying the different activities at Champlain Manor she made the most of her memory loss. She truly “Lived in the Moment”. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Champlain Manor who showed true love and kindness to Jean in those years.
Memorial visitation will be held on Friday January 6, 2023 at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia from 12 noon until time of Memorial Service at 2:30 PM. If desired, memorial donations to the Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
