Obituary
It is with profound sadness the family of Vera Marie Evans announce her peaceful passing on Monday March 13, 2023 at the age of 88 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Hospital.
Survived by her five children, Walter (Roxanne), Ruth, Roger, Robert (Debbie), and Timothy (Laura), siblings Roy, Rose, George (Jo-Ann), Ron and Trudy. Vera will be remembered by her cherished 11 grand-children and 7 great-grandchildren.
Vera is predeceased by her husband Terrance Evans, parents Walter and Vivian Pardy, sister Bonnie and dear friend Reg.
Vera was born on June 17, 1934. Shortly after marrying in 1955 Terry and Vera moved to Wales, United Kingdom where they welcomed their first son. They moved back to Botwood where they would then continue to grow their family and build everlasting memories. Their journey brought them to Ontario and after several years, in 1995 they moved back home to Botwood.
While living in Botwood and much of her family in Ontario, Vera frequently traveled back and forth for vacations, birthdays, weddings, and many Christmases. She always wished to bring everyone together under one roof and was grateful for the many trips her children and grand-children made to visit her.
Vera will always be remembered for her love of all things sweet, especially chocolate. You were always welcomed with a tray of sweets the moment you walked through the door and a deck of cards within arm’s reach for a game of quarters, rummoli or pass the ace.
