Jacqueline F. “Jackie” MacIntyre
1963-2024
Jacqueline F.
«Jackie» MacIntyre, age 61, of Steam Mill, passed
away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, November 28, 2024.
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Jackie was one of nine children of the
late Norman MacIntyre and Greta (Barkhouse) MacIntyre.
Jackie was a
stay-at-home mother who selflessly devoted her life to raising her two
beautiful daughters, Amanda Stevens (Halifax) and Jolene MacIntyre
(Canning). She was a great mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and
life partner to Tim Brown.
Jackie grew up in
Steam Mill, Nova Scotia, a place that left a lasting impression on her
throughout her life. She loved sharing memories of growing up playing
sports with all the neighbourhood kids.
In her adult years,
she had a passion for home decor and was inspired by Debbie Travis and
Martha Stewart. Some of her favourite pastimes included hanging out in
the garage, listening to classic rock, going for drives, texting her
daughters, going out for supper with family, attending Acadia
basketball games, and watching Bad Chad every evening.
Despite having a low
income, Jackie was someone that would give you the shirt off her back
and donated to multiple charities every year.
Above all, Jackie was
a woman who cherished her family. She spent a lot of time visiting her
parents and was very close with her sisters and brothers. She was
known as the voice of reason and always had fair advice to
give.
Left to carry on her
legacy are her loving children, Amanda (Carlos) and Jolene (Chad); her
life partner Tim Brown; his children, Ryan and Erika; her sisters,
Sheila (Randy), Carole (Terry), and Marilyn; her brothers, Norman
(Cheryl), and Darrell; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended
family and friends.
In addition to her
parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Mike (Sharon) Cleveland and
Gordie Cleveland; and sister, Brenda Anderson along with many aunts
and uncles.
Jackie will be
remembered for her soft, shy soul and for the grace, strength, and
dignity she showed when faced with cancer. All those who knew her,
loved her.
Jackie’s
family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Valley
Regional Emergency department for their diligence while Jackie was
under their care. Special thanks are extended to the staff of the
Valley Hospice for the kindness and compassion they showed during
Jackie’s brief stay.
There will be no
visitation, by request. The funeral service (with a livestream
available) will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 5 in the
White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Ivan Norton
officiating. Interment will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam
Mill.
Donations in memory
may be made to Valley Hospice Foundation. Funeral arrangements have
been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation
Services, Kentville.
