We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our Dad, Daryl Alvin Eshleman on November 22, 2024.
Daryl was predeceased by his beloved wife of 64 years, Jan, his brother Val, and his sister Dariel. He will be lovingly remembered by his son Brad (Leanne), daughters Cheryl (Dan) and Shawne, his cherished grandchildren Bri, Beau, Jayme, Mclean, and Shaloa, his great grandchildren Hart & Holly, his brother Neil (Kathy), sister Valerie (Gord), brother Ken (Lois), brother-in-law Jim and his six children, along with the Eshleman, Clarke, Zanetti and Dettling families.
Daryl was born on November 16, 1931, in Last Lake, Alberta, to Doris and Charles Eshleman. At the age of three, he moved to Penticton, where he grew up on the family dairy farm, creating many fond memories with his brother Val.
An accomplished athlete, Daryl excelled in baseball, basketball, and swimming in his youth, before later embracing curling, skiing, cycling, and kayaking. However, golf was his true passion, and he cherished the camaraderie and friendships he built over the years at the Penticton Golf Club.
In 1958, Daryl co-founded Clarke & Eshleman Electrical Contracting with Ron Clarke, a partnership that flourished into many successful business ventures spanning more than 60 years. His dedication and entrepreneurial spirit left a lasting mark on the Penticton business community.
Daryl lived a very active life with his wife Jan revolving around family and friends. Summers at the family’s Skaha Lake home were filled with warm Okanagan memories, while winters at Apex Mountain brought happiness as they skied alongside loved ones. Daryl was very proud and supportive of his children, grandchildren & great grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed attending their numerous activities.
He had an incredibly positive attitude and a willingness to help others. He was especially supportive of family and friends – always ready to get to work and lend a helping hand. His warmth, kindness, and encouragement touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
We would like to thank the many friends and family who added so much joy to Daryl’s life and supported him throughout the years. He treasured these relationships and was grateful for every moment spent together. A special thanks as well to the Athens Creek family who he spoke so highly of.
To celebrate Daryl’s life, we welcome family and friends to an afternoon at the Penticton Golf & Country Club, 600 Comox Street, Penticton, on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
