Daniel O’Reilly Obituary
It is with broken hearts that the family of Daniel Joseph O’Reilly announces his passing on November 20, 2024, at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Markland, NL, on September 2, 1960, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Shirley (Ivy) O’Reilly.
Daniel had an esteemed career in the military for 35 years, retiring as a Master Warrant Officer. He loved fly tying and fly fishing at his favourite place, The Ripple, in Newfoundland.
Daniel will be missed by his loving wife of 42 years Cathy O’Reilly; his son Cullen O’Reilly; brother Darren O’Reilly of St. John’s, NL; brother in law Bill Buckley (Betty Quinn); nieces and nephews Darcy O’Reilly, Arynne Earl, Catherine (Trevor) Greer, William Buckley (Kate), and Alexander Buckley (Janelle); great niece and nephew Josie and Parker; and family pup Flynn. Besides his and Cathy’s parents, Daniel was predeceased by his brothers David O’Reilly and Damien O’Reilly, and sister in law Sue Buckley.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd., Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). In keeping with Daniel’s wishes, there will be no formal visitation or funeral services. Donations in his memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Bobby’s Hospice, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
