LUNDY, James Bruce (Jim)
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of James Bruce Lundy (Jim), beloved husband, father, papa, father-in-law and brother who left us peacefully on November 15, 2024 at the age of 80 with his family by his side.
Jim was a devoted husband to Diana Lundy for 59 years. Together, they built a life filled with cherished memories spending time together throughout their childhood. Jim was on the basketball team in high school and Diana was by his side as a cheerleader. They spent numerous days on the golf course together and with their golf friends. They had an unwavering support for one another.
As a father to his two children Michael and Caroline, his love and support throughout their lives was immeasurable. He was their biggest cheerleader, and always there to listen, lend a hand, or provide advice.
As a grandfather to Taylor, Shelby, Evan, Nathan, and Hannah, he showed unwavering support, and always enjoyed hearing about their various adventures, education and careers. He embraced his role as their “Papa” with warmth, wisdom and a listening ear which will forever be remembered and cherished by them.
Jim enjoyed playing basketball on NFCVI ‘Red Raiders’ team, throughout high school with long time buddies, Jack and George Saddler and Brian Mulligan.
Jim’s long career as an executive search consultant brought him great joy. His colleagues and clients over the years were an important part of his life. After years of rewarding work in the field, he and his business partner Janet Wright launched their own highly successful “Landmark Consulting” firm.
Jim enjoyed 32 years at Hamilton Golf Club. He made close friends over the years. As a member at The Meadows Golf Club Course in Sarasota, Florida he enjoyed wonderful winters.
He is survived by his loving wife Diana Lundy, by his children Michael Lundy and Caroline Cockhill (son-in-law John Cockhill), by his brother Hugh Lundy (sister-in-law Janettte Lundy) and by his grandchildren Taylor Lundy, Shelby Cockhill, Evan Cockhill, Nathan Cockhill, Hannah Cockhill. He is predeceased by his father and mother, Bruce and Kathleen Lundy.
The family is very appreciative of the nurses who looked after Jim for the past 8 months.
Jim will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
