Ruth Laurine Johnston Obituary
Ruth Laurine Johnston, born in Oshawa, Ontario, in 1929, passed away peacefully at Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton, surrounded by family. Ruth was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bob Johnston, with whom she shared a life filled with love and devotion.
Ruth was a dedicated and loving mother to Steve (Joan), Paul (Karen), Murray, Bev (Geoff), Tim (Caroline), Laurel (Darcy) Petrovic, and Sean (Ryoko). Her legacy lives on through her 15 grandchildren: Curtis, Lauren, Meagan, Vanessa, Matt, Courtney, Jennifer, Andrew, Gillian, Rachel, Nic, Bron, Carly, Emma, and Kai; five great-grandchildren, Felix, Nico, Orrin, Maizie and Talon. Ruth’s life was a testament to family, kindness, and unwavering faith.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16, at 1:00 p.m. at Enjoy Life Church, 3935 114 St NW, Edmonton, AB.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Grey Nuns Hospital for their compassionate care, with a very special thanks to longtime friend and health aid, Robina.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ruth’s honour to a charity of choice. Ruth will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
