It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Lynne Elizabeth (nee. MacIntyre) Grimaldi on November 11, 2024 at the age of 73. Lynne was born on February 11, 1951, to David and Catherine (nee Russell) MacIntyre. She was a loving older sister to, Jim (Lynn) MacIntyre and cousin to Ralph (Linda) and Gord (Terry) Hembruff.
Lynne was known for her deep generosity, delicious cooking, love of gardening, and unwavering support for her family and friends. In 1985, Lynne met the love of her life and beloved husband, Matthew Grimaldi. They were married for 39 years and became proud parents to two beautiful children, Gabriele (Gabe) Grimaldi and Alicia (nee. Grimaldi) (James) Tobias. Lynne cherished all the time she could get with her grandchildren Arya and Archer Tobias and David and Matthew Lachance. Lynne was also a loving mother to Michael (Brian), Christopher (Mary), Paul, Jo-Lynn, and Julie (John).
Lynne was predeceased by her parents, Catherine (nee. Russell) and David MacIntyre.
The family would like to thank the outstanding doctors and nurses at St. Joseph Health Centre who took such good care of Lynne. If you wish, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to St. Joseph Heath Centre Foundation in Lynne’s name: donate.supportstjoes.ca
Visitation will occur Friday, November 15, 2024, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 9 p.m., and the Funeral Service will be on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 3 p.m. The visitations and funeral will take place at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON M6S 1P4.
