Obituary
It is with profound sadness that the family of Glen Garnet Anderson announces his passing on November 10th, 2024 at age 91.
He is predeceased by his parents Alice and Seymour Anderson, in-laws Grace and Robert Sadlemyer, infant brother of the same name, sister Joyce Maloney, sisters and brothers-in-law Bill Maloney, Grant Pasiuk, Irene and Mike Opyr, Evelyn and Lorne Sadlemyer, Audrey and Neil Windjack, nephew Larry Maloney and nieces Cheryl Gallatin and Maureen Woolley.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of nearly 69 years Marjorie Evelyn Anderson (nee Sadlemyer), his daughters Jamie-Lou (Ken) Svenson and Cara (Mark) Nikolic; 5 grandchildren Eri-Enne (Derek), Anders (Lindsay), Jaiden (Adrianna), Ciara (Chad) and Aksyl; 8 great grandchildren Lucas, Annika, Charlie, Kai, Callie, Luka, Samuel and Mateo; sister Noreen Pasiuk as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Glen was born on a farm near Mossbank, Saskatchewan. A proper man of the prairies, he loved to regale his kids and grandkids with stories of his earlier years (both true and slightly embellished). His passion for the land led him to live, work and raise his family between Moose Jaw and the farm near Mossbank. He worked as a machinist for 50 years; commuting between the city and the country to farm.
He was rarely seen without a toothpick in his mouth and never without a buck knife in one pocket and a tape measure in the other. Glen dedicated his life to faith; he was an active member at Central Lutheran Church and played violin in the Country Gospel for many years. A talented musician, he passed along his love of music to his kids and grandkids, often joking of starting a travelling family band.
He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered for his stoic but fierce love of his family, world class whistling skills and notoriously terrible hugs. A genuine gentleman, Glen will be missed by many.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations made in Glen’s name to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan 301-2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 3X1 alzheimer.ca/sk/en
