It is with sorrow that we, the family announce the passing of Brian Arnelien on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at the age of 65, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney.
Born in Toronto, ON, Brian was the son of Stanley and Barbara Arnelien.
Besides his parents, Brian is survived by his siblings, Kevin, Jeff and Maureen and their families.
Brian is predeceased by his sister, Emerald.
Brian was a real gentleman and was thoughtful of others. His greatest accomplishment was running in the Special Olympics for many years, that took him across Canada to compete in various cities. When not running, Brian loved to read many kinds of books, especially topics on politics. Brian will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Brian Arnelien will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.), Whitney Pier on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 12 noon to 1 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Pastor Harlyn Purdy officiating. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
Donations in honor of Brian may be made to the Special Olympics in your community or charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
