1940-2023
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Marilyn
E. Kennie at the Moncton Hospital on January 1st, 2023. She
was born in Riverside, NB to the late Cecil and Hilda
Williamson.
She is survived by her husband, M. Adrian Kennie; her
daughters, Ruth (Keith) MacNevin, Beverley Saemisch and Brenda Kennie;
her son, Robert (Elva) Kennie and son-in-law, Robin Mullin; sisters,
Sharon Bryson and Linda (Fred) Crilley; sister-in-law, Lois
McDaniel; her 8 grandchildren and 6 great
grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Susan Mullin;
son-in-law, Eric Saemisch and sister-in-law,
Lorna
Marilyn was a proud stay at home Mom who loved her
flowers. She valued reading and introduced her children to
the bookmobile and then when she got her driver’s license the
Moncton Public Library. Marilyn was a very active member of
the Parkside Baptist Church and her love was
Children’s Ministry. When she and Adrian returned back to
Riverside-Albert she continued her love for children at the
Albert Baptist Church. During the 9 years Marilyn
volunteered on the Board of Forest Dale Nursing Home, she was
heavily involved in the design and plans of the new modern
facility. Marilyn was a true inspiration for many
and has left a legacy of love and caring.
Marilyn’s family would like to express their heartfelt
thanks to Dr. Jamie Stewart for his care of Marilyn.
Appreciation to Teresa O’Hara, neighbour/paramedic, and the nurses of
3400 and Palliative Care.
In lieu of flowers donations to the
Hopewell Cemetery or charity of the donor’s choice would be
greatly appreciated by the family.
There will be a time of visitation at the Albert
County Funeral Home on Thursday, January 5th, 2023 from
2-4pm. The Celebration of Life will be held at the
funeral home on Friday, January 6th, 2023 at 2:00pm with Rev. John
Weiler officiating. For those attending, masks are
preferred by the family. Interment will be in the
Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB at a later date.
