Obituary
With heavy hearts, we are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Salvatore, who was born in Montaperto, Italy. Entered into rest surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at St. Joseph`s Hospital. Salvatore in his 95th year is predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Carmela (nee Contino). Devoted father to Charles (Frances), Joseph, and Tom (Maria). Proud Nonno to Melanie, Rosemary, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) and Alexandra. Loving Bisnonno to Liliana and Christian. Predeceased by his parents; Calogero and Carmela (nee LaPorta). Dear brother and brother-in-law to the late Vincenza Baio (the late Alfonso), the late Gaetano Butera, the late Giuseppe Butera (Calogera), the late Gerlando Butera (the late Pasqualina), Anna Principato (the late Filippo) and Lorenzo Butera(Mary). Forever remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Canada and Italy. Special thank you to the CTU4 staff, Mary Grace Wing at St. Joseph`s Hospital for their care and compassion. Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E., on Monday, November 4th from 2-4p.m. & 6-8p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at All Souls Church on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at 10a.m, with entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Burlington. Donations in Salvatore’s memory to the Canadian Diabetes Society would be greatly appreciated.
