Peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, with her family at her bedside, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, age 81. Beloved wife of the late Richard Packham (2005). Loving mother of Brian, Roxane and April Packham.Cherished grandmother of Sarah Flanagan (Ryan), Alicia Thomas (Andrew) and Whitney Scott and great grandmother of Kaedence, Oliver, Athena, Luna, Griffen, Logan, and Daniel. Dear sister of the late Cecil Ashley Laird (late Ellora). Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews and friends.
Vera was an active leader with Scouts Canada and Girl Guides for many years and a faithful member of Lundy’s Lane and Stamford Lane United Churches.
The family will receive friends at Stamford Lane United Church, 3855 St. Peter St., Niagara Falls, on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 10 – 11a.m. A service to celebrate the life of Vera will take place at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow. Private family burial in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Therapeutic Paws of Canada.
