With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Murray
Edward Martel, aged 53, of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, formerly of
Bridgewater. Murray was born in Windsor, Ontario, to the late Sylvio
and Janet (Dimmel) Martel.
From a young age, he held a deep love for the outdoors,
spending cherished days hunting in his granddad’s woods and
riding dirt bikes. Throughout his life, Murray cared greatly for his
community in Dartmouth, where he lived for many years. He found joy in
simple acts of service, collecting recyclables, tidying the
neighborhood, and spreading kindness on his daily walks, making
friends wherever he went.
Murray is lovingly remembered for his warm, kind eyes and
playful smile. His memory will remain close in the hearts of those who
knew and loved him.
He is survived by his stepsisters, Pamela and Fay of Ontario;
his aunts, Mabel Beaver of Hebbville, and Sandra Eisner of Upper
Cornwall, Nova Scotia; as well as nieces, nephews, and
cousins.
Cremation has taken place with a private family ceremony to
be held at New Cornwall Memorial Gardens.
