Crofton Richard Wood or “Woody” as he was affectionately known, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 24, 2024 at the age of 89. Crofton was a devoted husband to Marcella for 67 years, a supportive father to 3 (Carey, Michelle and Richard), a loving sibling to Vivian, Wanda and Mel (late), a proud Poppa to 5 and a doting Great Grandfather of 5 more. He was a proud Lions Club member and a respected businessman in Havelock, with a reputation for his integrity, honesty and compassion to his staff. Crofton always had a fishing or hunting story on hand, was never shy to share his political opinion and quick to offer a beer by the Lake. He will be remembered for his jokes, the wiggle of his ears, fish frys at the Camp and his sharp wit and energetic spirit, right up until the end. He was a generous friend to so many and will be dearly missed by those that were lucky enough to have known him. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
