Joyce Isabel Waddell passed away peacefully, with family by her side, at The Pines Long Term Care, Bracebridge, on Saturday, March 4th, 2023. Age 89 years.
Beloved wife of the late Murray Waddell. Loving mother of Bruce and his wife Lynn; Joan and her husband Rob Warren; and Barry. Proud Grandma of Scott (Laura), Kent (Lauren), and Jessica (Tony). Great Grandma of Webb, Liahna, and Brent and Hannah. Daughter of the late Harry and Bessie Beirness. From a family of 11, Joyce is survived by her brother Ken (Marion). Fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Joyce’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Dechert and the staff at The Pines Long Term Care for their kindness and for their compassionate care.
A Graveside Service and Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, on Friday, April 28th, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. Reception to follow at the Logan Funeral Home (705-746-5855), 81 James Street, Parry Sound, Ontario.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to The Pines Long Term Care would be appreciated by the family.

I am so grateful to have known Joyce. I worked with her at St. Joes for 10 years. Joyce always worked evenings and when I signed off to her I knew all of my patients were in excellent hands. Joyce was beyond kind and compassionate. She had such a quiet unique strength. She was an exceptional woman and superb nurse. She was a role model for me. My sincere condolences to all of her family. She was a light in the darkness and a kind, compassionate and loving person. I looked up to her and strove to be just like her. She had dignity and was a women of substance and strength. Your Mom has seldom been out of my thoughts since leaving town as she was a big part of most seniors, like my Mom, Aunt, etc. She was always smiling, willing to get involved and an amazing gentle woman. She has now made her journey home with her family and friends called before her to the Lord.. It is my belief, that you will be with her again someday. Until then, just like your Dad, your Mom will always be close by and watching over you. Our deep love for those who died are always kept alive in our memories and hearts. God Bless all of you.
