Obituary
Lawrence Jeffrey Williams (66) died on October 11 in a tragic accident. He was born on July 17 1958 to Hector and Jesse Williams. Raised with his three brothers and one sister in Clyde River. Lawrence was a middle child with Bonnie(Clayton), Gary(Connie), Brian(Nancy) older and Kevin(Annette) the youngest.
Lawrence lived a peaceful and happy life. He was married in 1979 to his wonderful wife Heather. Together they raised two children Brandon(Gabi) and Heidi(James). Lawrence loved being a father and the past two years nothing brought him as much joy as his grandchildren Liam and Willow. He loved being their Papa.
Family and friends were very important to Lawrence and he was not in short supply of either. His kind demeanour and generosity made him a friend to all he met. He was a quiet man but made his love for friends and family known through his actions. He was so happy to help anyone in need and was always willing to lend a hand in any way he could. Taking anyone out on his boat the “Little Liam” was one of his favourite things to do. He was so proud of his little fishing boat.
He spent his life doing the things he enjoyed. Not many can say they love what they do for work but building boats and carpentry were two things he really enjoyed. He spent his career working for various boat shops and took great pride in the work he did.
Travelling was also something he enjoyed. From heading over seas to Switzerland, to the far south of Texas and Florida, to the great white north of Whitehorse. Lawrence was just beginning to enjoy slowing down and being able to go many places.
Spending time teaching others about the Bible was very important to him and he felt very privileged to be an elder in the Yarmouth congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. His Bible based hope of a resurrection brings much peace to his family. Lawrence was an example of what every Christain brother should strive to be. Loving Jehovah, kind, compassionate, mild, meek and loving, but still manly.
A void is left where lawrence used to be, he will continue to be missed until the day comes for him to live again.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 19, at 2:00 pm from the H.M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington. Memorial donations may be made to any charity of choice. Online condolences may be sent to huskilson@ns.aliantzinc.ca or you may sign the guest book at www.huskilson.net
