Toth, Valerie Lynn (nee Stahle)
Passed away at Lisaard House on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at the age of 72.
Beloved wife of Robert «Bob» Toth for 45 years. Cherished mother of Lindsay and Justin (Shannon) Toth, grandmother of Wesley and Myles. Loving sister of Sylvia Stahle and sister-in-law of Virginia and Linda (nee Toth). Valerie was predeceased by her parents Irvin and Ortha Stahle and is remembered fondly by our wonderful «Meems» Grandma Rose.
Valerie was baptized and confirmed at Historic St. Paul’s Church and was a current member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She graduated from Cameron Heights Collegiate in 1970, picked up a Grade 13 Art Credit at KCI’s Night School and graduated from the two year Creative Art Program at Sheridan College in 1973. After many retail jobs, Valerie’s last job was working at the K-W Record in Display Advertising for 7 years.
Valerie was admired for her beautiful creative artwork, wonderful quilts, costume and clothes making, stained glass window making, unique stitchery pieces, her two year challenge of stripping and restoring all the woodwork in her home and exceptional decorating. Her most noteworthy creations were the nine beautiful red antique firemen’s shirts worn by the Cambridge Firefighters in parades and musters who named her «The Red Shirt Girl». Her extensive researching and recording with friend Diane Leonard and dear cousin Judy Mendicino created the most impressive family tree booklets we could hope for. Valerie’s garden was a masterpiece to behold.
Valerie will be missed by best friends Gloria and Ron Sauve, Joan and Dave Parker, Mary and Bob McFarlane, Jane and Bryan Pinder, Bill and Marg Hunter, Harriet and Norm Falk, Mabel Wentzlaff, Barb Sushycki and Lori South as well as loving cousins, nieces and nephews from the Stahle, Schenk and Toth families.
Valerie’s family will receive relatives and friends from 2:30-3:15 PM, on Monday, October 21, 2024, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 3:30 PM. A reception will follow. Interment will take place at Memory Gardens.
