It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Brendan MacGillivray on Thursday, September 19th, 2024, age 38 years.
Beloved son of Keith and Rhonda MacGillivray (née Munro). Dear brother of Chelsea (Georges) and Breanna (Will). Cherished uncle of Ellie and Anna.
Predeceased by his grandparents, Rae and Marion MacGillivray (née MacIntosh) and Arnold and Sheila Munro (née Wilkes). Brendan will be dearly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and colleagues.
He always took great pride in his celtic heritage and felt his Scottish ancestors would be pleased that he resided at «The Highlands» in Ottawa, Ontario.
Brendan was a very proud Queen’s University graduate with a Bachelor of Science, Honours Major Chemistry, General Biology (2009), Bachelor of Education (2012), and Masters in Science (2012).
He was a passionate science teacher who currently taught at Elmwood School and previously at Ashbury College and South Carleton High School.
A celebration of Brendan’s life will take place at St. Columba Presbyterian Church, Kirkhill, Ontario on Saturday September 28th 2024 at 1:00pm. Reception to follow at the MacGillivray family home in Kirkhill.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. Columba Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family.
