FITCH, Peter (December 4, 1937 – September 8, 2024)
Passed away, peacefully, after a courageous struggle with illness, on Sunday, September 8th, 2024, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, with his loving wife and family by his side, Peter Fitch, of Main Street, Courtland, in his 87th year. Born in Tillsonburg, son of the late Walter and Hazel Fitch. Much loved husband of 34 years, of Zdzislawa (Dojnikowska) Fitch. Loved father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather of: Peter (Ann) Fitch and their children Leigh Ann Fitch (John Wolf); Brad (Becky) Fitch, and their children Logan, Liam and Rowann; Anna Lise (Alan) Geerts and their children Ray, Blaire, and Alister; Ricky (Sally) Fitch and their children Kyle (Jenn) Fitch and their children Nolan, Owen; Ryan (Savanna) Fitch and their children Riley and Josephine. Always a caring stepfather to: Danuta (Wojtek) Drejer and their children Matthew (Shannon) Drejer (and their children Ben and Henry); Colleen (Richard) Liberato and their daughter Sophia. Survived by his sister Julia, (and special sisters) Doreen (Doug) Beffort and Vera Monk. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Raymond Fitch (1975), as well as by four sisters and six brothers.
In keeping with Peter’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends, neighbours and relatives are welcome to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, September 19th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 51 Venison St W, Tillsonburg, by Rev. Fr. Seejo John. Inurnment follows in Tillsonburg Cemetery. Everyone who knew Peter is invited to share favourite memories and photos, leave letters of support and condolence, or (in lieu of flowers) contribute memorial donations to the “Alzheimer Society” or to “St. Mary’s Church- Building Fund” via Peter’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com or by contacting the Maurice J.
