Conrad Joseph Berard died peacefully December 19th at the age of 81 at McKinney Place care home in Oliver, BC.
Conrad is predeceased by his father, Joseph Berard; mother, Marie Berard, and sister, Jaqueline Berard (McGuinness)
He is survived by his son, Jason Berard of Summerland, BC and daughter-in-law, Tracey Berard and his 3 grandchildren Patrick Stein, Johnny Berard and Kaiya Berard; his brothers, Louie Berard, Paul Berard and Robert Berard and sister Jeanette Gilchrist (Berard)
Conrad worked as a stationary engineer in a boiler room at a lumber mill in Temagami, ON for most of the 80’s and after that went into mining in Tumbler Ridge as a Heavy Haul truck driver and eventually retired after driving Haul truck for Syncrude in Fort McMurry and moved to Peachland shortly after and begun his retirement.
Conrad was a avid fisherman and hunter and loved spending time camping with friends and family. Always had a smile and always something funny to say. He loved visiting his grandkids especially when they would show up in their Air Cadet uniforms for a visit. He had a love for hockey as he was a Montreal Canadiens fan and could often be heard yelling and screaming as they played. Conrad made friends wherever he went as his character was very strong and friendly. He will be missed by so many.
A huge thank you to all the staff at McKinney Place who took extremely good care of him since day one, he had nothing but praise for all the staff involved.
