Bruce was a hardworking man who worked as a labourer and was a member of the Labourer’s union for 40 years. Bruce enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, trouting, and harvesting wood. He especially enjoyed any time he spent at the cabin and on the lakes in central NL. Bruce was an explorer of the outdoors wherever he lived and ensured he knew every nook and cranny. Bruce was an animal lover and loved his pets with his whole heart. Bruce enjoyed sharing stories of his trips abroad as a young lad. Of all his travels, he loved India and Columbia the most. When visiting Bruce in his home you would find him in the kitchen preparing meals, he loved cooking for others to enjoy. Bruce overcame various health issues in the last thirteen years but never gave up fighting.
The family would like to sincerely thank the first people who arrived on scene and selflessly offered assistance; Derek and Betty Ann Barnes, Emily Harnum, Stanley Legge, Danny Turner, and Derrick Cumby. A special thank you to the Heart’s Delight-Islington Fire Department, Paramedics, RCMP officers, and Warren’s Funeral Home who responded in such a time of need with the utmost professionalism, compassion, and support.
